Put on your Gauntlets of Ogre Power and get your Cloaks of Displacement out of the closet!

Our annual charity gaming/storytelling/theater event returns this fall – four times as big, all virtual, and featuring a roster of all-star Dungeon Master’s Guild creators and plenty of Halloween-themed adventures!

Play Dungeons & Dragons from October 22-25 with your favorite Red Monkey Theater Group and Cast Party performers. This year’s event will also include a a free workshop from Cast Party’s Matt Gordon to help you run awesome online D&D games on Roll20. New to D&D? Always wanted to play but never had the chance? Don’t worry, we’ll teach you!

You can join us for one session, or play all weekend.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Dungeons & Monkeys will benefit Red Monkey Theater Group, a non-profit professional theater company in residence at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Bronx, New York.

When the sovereign of a war-stricken kingdom goes missing, adventurers must brave the castle dungeons to find them. Death stalks the dungeon walls and dark deeds come to light as the characters uncover the story of a terrible sacrifice, culminating in a choice that will decide the fate of an entire realm. Lake of Secrets features a fresh narrative abounding with intrigue, traps, and puzzles.

A foiled theft carried out by unusual suspects leads to a treasure hunt that delves into the history of heroes from the past. Clues lead the adventurers to a crypt filled with puzzles that guard a legendary treasure. Players should expect to put their own puzzle solving wits (with help from their characters’ skills) to the test.

Summoned to an old benefactor’s home, the adventurers are beset by an unexpected visitor who has come for vengeance. Time runs short to save someone from an evil fey’s twisted bargain. The adventurers must delve into a haunted cavern and enter the lair of a powerful hag before time runs out. A great introduction to D&D for new players, but also a fun challenge for experienced gamers.

The lady of House Zulpair has received a threat that a priceless artifact will be stolen from under her nose. The threat comes in the form of a letter signed by “Hair of the Dog,” a notable phantom thief who made their mark on the city of Waterdeep nearly 300 years ago. Lady Zulpair hires the party to keep her valuables safe without disrupting any activity in the manor— because Hair of the Dog has vowed to strike on the very same night as the lady’s birthday party!

Murder on the Primewater Pleasure
The characters recently did Gellan Primewater, a local merchant from the town of Saltmarsh, a great service by recovering property deeds worth a large sum of money that he had long thought lost. In return, Gellan throws a party for them on his ship, the Primewater Pleasure. However, this weekend cruise is plunged into chaos when one of the guests is murdered. The party must dive in and find the murderer before the ship gets back to shore – and the murderer can escape.

The quiet farm village of Dellavenge has called out for help.  A wave of disappearances (they fear kidnappings) has hit this small community. You have been assigned to investigate, discover who/what is responsible and if possible, rescue the missing.  Are things as they seem?  Where are the missing?  What of the stories of a strange woman seen in the area? Could the Hobgoblin army be behind this?  Or is it something else entirely, something far more sinister…

MEET THE DUNGEONS & MONKEYS 2020 DUNGEON MASTERS

Tal Aviezer is the Artistic Director of Red Monkey Theater Group, resident theater company of NYC’s College of Mount Saint Vincent, for whom he writes and acts in a series of ongoing site-specific Sherlock Holmes plays performed at both Bartow-Pell Mansion-Museum in NYC and at Lyndhurst mansion in Tarrytown, NY. Tal has directed and produced numerous shows over the past 21 years, many of them works of Shakespeare. Recent favorite roles include Hamlet, Macbeth, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Trigorin in The Seagull, Gary Peter Lefkowitz in I Hate Hamlet, Cassius in Julius Caesar, and Mr. Croup in Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.

Tal has worked as a voice actor and voice director for video games and for numerous local and national radio stations. Training: National Theater Institute, Royal Shakespeare Company. An experienced DM, Tal considers D&D to be a powerful interactive storytelling tool and an engine of creativity, empathy, friendship, and fun. His style includes an equal emphasis on role-playing, exploration and discovery, and combat. His original best-selling D&D adventures are available at DMsGuild.com – including Attack on Coppercoil, which he’ll be running at Dungeons & Monkeys this year.

Leon Barillaro is a game designer and writer living in Jersey City. They currently work for Future Proof as a game designer for their transmedia experience online and in immersive theatrical events. Leon has writing and editing credits on several products on the Dungeon Masters Guild, including best-selling titles Uncaged Anthology and The Book of House. Matt Gordon has been involved with role-playing since he was six years old. Whether it be acting or Dungeon Mastering for friends, family, and others, Matt enjoys involving himself as an active participant in a good story. Working with Red Monkey Theater Group has granted him ample opportunities to do just that, being in six productions in the last seven years, and helping to bring Dungeons & Monkeys, RMTG’s annual D&D charity event, to life for the last three. Liam Murray is an Irish student and a relatively new best-selling writer on Dungeon Master’s Guild, with over 5 years of DM experience. His favourite official adventure is Curse of Strahd. His first adventure, Murder on the Primewater Pleasure, was published only a few months ago and became a best-selling product overnight! Steve “Jaspor” Orr is a homebrewer, retired punk rock guitarist, and software developer. He has been playing and DMing Dungeons & Dragons games for many years, and has been publishing on the Dungeon Masters Guild since February 2019. Joe Raso is a dad, a husband, a mediocre goalie for a rec hockey team, and a long-suffering DM who’s had the pleasure of gaming with the same group since his university days. Since 2018, Joe has been writing, editing, and producing third-party D&D content on the DMs Guild. Steve Pankotai is a bestselling writer on the Dungeon Masters Guild. Best known for his adventures, he has recently expanded the Player Primer series to help introduce players to the Dungeons & Dragons world. Kyle Thomas is a long time DM, new dad, and proud participant in every Dungeons and Monkeys event so far. His love of improv got him back into the game in 2013, but his love of the game has built a family of role players that have inspired him to create his own world.  This year a few players will get to enter that world.

Sebastian Yūe is a Toronto-based author, editor, model, and voice actor. Lake of Secrets is their first published TTRPG adventure. Sebastian is also a developer for Islands & Aswangs, a 5e sourcebook based on Filipino folklore. In their spare time, Sebastian enjoys reading, fencing, theatre-going, and traveling.
